Outstanding article not to mention very easy towards realize explanation. How do I just do receiving permission towards submit element of this content with my future news letter? Giving suitable consumer credit rating back to you typically the author not to mention link in the web site would not be considered trouble.

Comment on Ext JS 4: A Complete Review by Michael Mullany

Luke, thanks for the review of Ext JS 4, and being a Sencha supporter. We definitely put a huge number of new features into Ext JS 4, and looking back we'd probably try to push one or two of those big features into a later release. Hopefully you've been pleased by the rapid page of minor releases since we shipped 4.0 - we've pushed out 4 releases and are ready to push out our fifth - 4.05. Performance has definitely been a main effort, particularly for grid. We've also done a big effort to address as many forum issues as possible outside the official support subscription, and I hope you've seen a much better response rate in the last few weeks - our tracking stats are showing it at least!

I am disappointed in the 4/5 score for cross-browser support. This is an area that we're insanely religious about, and I'd appreciate an email letting me know what issues you're seeing. We went through a huge amount of pain getting our vector charts working in IE6 (among many other features) and if there's something broken then it's a high priority fix for all of us.

I'm glad you're seeing improvement in the docs, this has been another major effort, with the doc app getting a lot of TLC both for the release and the subsequent patch releases.

Thanks again for your support of Sencha! We hope we'll have a shot at earning 5/5 from you with our 4.1 release!

Thanks for the writeup, you make a number of great points. A few thoughts:

Ease of use/documentation - Thanks for recognizing the improvements, but as you say we're not done yet. We have a team dedicated to just docs now and upgrade them at least once a week

Updates/patches - we've been able to put out a release roughly every 2 weeks for the last several months. Trying to find the balance between a big "fix all" release but a longer time to wait vs lots of smaller releases. I think the latter makes more sense - perhaps you disagree

Performance - we solved a lot of the problems with the latest patch releases, but have a couple of slightly larger updates that yield more dramatic improvements. The problem is the wrong thing is being optimized - individual Components have never been faster, but piecing them together reveals inefficiencies in the layout system that make the whole thing feel slow. This is priority #1 for us

Support - it's hard to write a framework and be responsive on the forums at the same time but lately I think we'd skewed too much towards the former. I hope you'll find us more engaged now, especially around responding to bug reports

Overall - 3/5 sucks as a rating. I hope in 4.1 it will meet the expectations laid out above (we share them)
